My Grandmother credited herself for my career as a floral designer. In the days before silk flowers she had a box of plastic flowers and would have me redo her arrangements.  Later in high school, I made corsages, boutonieres  and nosegays for my friend's dates to dances and events. In 1985 I was working for Sanger Harris, an upscale department store in downtown Dallas in the mens suit buying office. Outside my office was the silk floral department and soon I became friends with the store designer and he started showing me how to arrange florals.  He would let me design sometimes and my arrangements kept selling so fast that when an opening came up at another store I got the referral. I was never meant to work in an office so a transfer was soon arranged. 

A few years later, a friend asked me to come to work in his florist in the Oak Lawn area of Dallas. I found I was a natural and loved working with fresh flowers. Over the following years, I worked for a few shops and was hotel florist for some older grand dame establishments.

 

In 1996 while decorating the home of dear friends for Christmas, they said I should have my own business and on May 1, 1997 they had me opening my doors to the public. After 9/11 when the economy tanked, I closed my store front and started working from my home. Even though i missed my shop, I love the freedom of doing what I love most with out having the huge burden of a store.

 

Weddings are a particular interest for me as I get to guide a couple as they start out married life together in a beautiful way. Listening to what the couple is looking for and offering suggestions to make the big day one to remember.

 

Parties and events are so much fun to plan and put together. Dallas has so many wonderful venues to host an event and many homes around town have also been adorned with my floral creations. Call me lets plan a party!

 

I started decorating houses for Christmas in high school and that has been the trend for over 30 years. I love Christmas more than any other time of the year. I can take your decorations and put them up just the way you like them or put my twist on them for a different look. Many times I incorporate new items and trims to freshen up the look or we can start over with an all new theme and blow it out big and festive. I offer both home decorating and commerical. Whatever your dream is for the holiday season, let me work it up and make it happen for you.
